Privacy Policy
How information is handled when you visit this website, contact us, or buy a digital template kit through our Shopify store.
Legal review notice. This document is a general website-policy template and is not legal advice. It should be reviewed and adapted by a qualified professional for the business location, customer locations, data practices, products, and applicable laws.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Client Onboarding Kits (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the website at https://clientonboardingkits.store and the digital products sold through our Shopify store at https://clientonboardingkits.myshopify.com.
We sell downloadable templates. We do not run an advertising network, and we do not sell personal information. Where a section below is marked as a placeholder, it describes something the business owner must confirm, replace, or remove before publication.
Information customers may provide
Depending on how you interact with us, you may provide:
- Order information such as your name, email address, billing details, and the products you purchased, collected during checkout.
- Support information such as your name, email address, order number, and the contents of your message.
- Newsletter information such as an email address, if a newsletter service is connected in future and you choose to subscribe.
- Technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, which is typically recorded by hosting and platform providers.
Please do not send us passwords, payment card numbers, or sensitive personal information about your own clients. We do not need it, and email is not a secure channel for it.
Order information handled through Shopify
Purchases are completed on our Shopify store, not on this website. Shopify collects and processes the information required to take an order, verify and process payment, prevent fraud, deliver digital files, and send order-related emails.
Shopify acts as our ecommerce platform and has its own privacy practices and its own agreements with payment providers. We recommend reading Shopify’s privacy documentation, available from the Shopify website, to understand how it handles information as a platform. As the merchant, we can see order records such as your name, email address, order contents, and order status.
Contact-form information
The contact form on this website is a design placeholder. It is not connected to a form-processing service, so submitting it does not send or store anything. Until a service is connected, please contact us by email at hello@clientonboardingkits.store.
When you email us, we use your message and contact details only to answer your question and resolve your order. We do not add support contacts to a marketing list. If a form service is connected later, this section must be updated to name that provider and describe where the submissions are stored.
Newsletter information
The newsletter section on the homepage is a visual placeholder. No email marketing service is connected, no subscription is created, and no address is stored. Nobody is subscribed automatically, and no marketing consent box is pre-selected.
[PLACEHOLDER — if you connect an email marketing service, name the provider here, explain what data it receives, describe the legal basis you rely on for marketing, and confirm that every message includes an unsubscribe link.]
Cookies and similar technologies
This static website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and it does not include third-party marketing scripts.
Our Shopify store is a separate system and does use cookies and similar technologies, for example to keep a cart and a session working and to support fraud prevention and store analytics. Those are governed by Shopify’s own practices and by any cookie settings the store presents to you.
[PLACEHOLDER — if you later add analytics, embedded video, chat widgets, social media embeds, or a consent banner to this website, describe them here and, where required by the applicable law, obtain consent before non-essential technologies are used.]
Website hosting
This website is served by a static web hosting provider. Hosting providers typically process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, requested files, and user-agent strings in server logs, for the purposes of delivering the site, maintaining security, and diagnosing faults.
[PLACEHOLDER — name your hosting provider here, and link to its privacy documentation and, where relevant, its data-processing terms.]
Payment processing
We do not collect, see, or store full payment card details. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment providers through the Shopify checkout. The payment methods available to you, and the information required to use them, are determined by those providers.
Digital delivery services
Digital files are delivered through the order-processing and digital-delivery arrangements in place on the Shopify store. Those services process the order details necessary to make your files available to you and to send delivery instructions to the email address used at checkout.
[PLACEHOLDER — if you use a specific digital-delivery application on Shopify, name it here and link to its privacy documentation.]
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers to run the business, which may include an ecommerce platform, payment providers, a website host, an email provider, and, in future, a form or newsletter service. Providers receive only the information needed for their role and are expected to protect it and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or to prevent fraud or misuse.
Analytics
[PLACEHOLDER — no website analytics service is described here. If you add one, name the provider, describe what it measures, state whether the data is aggregated or identifiable, explain any retention period, and, where the applicable law requires consent for analytics technologies, obtain that consent first.]
We will not claim to use a particular analytics, advertising, cookie, or newsletter service unless it is actually in use.
Data retention
Order records are kept for as long as we need them to support the order, to meet accounting, tax, and other legal obligations, and to handle any dispute. Support emails are kept for as long as they remain useful for customer service, and are then deleted or archived.
[PLACEHOLDER — insert the specific retention periods that apply in your jurisdiction, for example the number of years transaction records must be retained for tax purposes.]
Information security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we rely on established providers such as Shopify for checkout and payment security. No website, platform, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please use secure methods when you handle your own clients’ information, and do not send sensitive material to us by email.
International processing
Our service providers may store or process information in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards recognised under the applicable law are expected to be in place, for example standard contractual clauses agreed with the provider.
[PLACEHOLDER — confirm the transfer mechanisms your providers actually rely on, and describe them here.]
Customer privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. These commonly include the right to request access to it, to have inaccurate information corrected, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a request, email hello@clientonboardingkits.store. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some information must be retained where the law requires it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
[PLACEHOLDER — if you sell to customers in jurisdictions with specific requirements, such as the EU, the UK, California, or Canada, have this section reviewed and expanded for those laws.]
Children’s privacy
Our products are intended for business use by adults. The website and store are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, our providers, or the applicable law. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes should be communicated in a reasonable way, for example by a notice on the website.
Contact information
Questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy can be sent to hello@clientonboardingkits.store.
[PLACEHOLDER — add the legal business name, registered or trading address, and any company or VAT registration number required in your jurisdiction, and name a data controller or representative if one is required.]
