Licence summary

When you buy a kit from Client Onboarding Kits you receive a single-business commercial-use licence. One purchase covers one business, and that business may use the templates with as many of its own clients as it likes.

The licence is granted to the purchasing business, is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable, and continues for as long as these terms are observed. You do not receive ownership of the templates, of the underlying template system, or of any design element within them.

Permitted uses

Within the purchasing business, you may:

  • Customize the templates for that one purchasing business, including editing, rewriting, reordering, and deleting content.
  • Add the buyer’s branding and business information, such as a logo, colours, typefaces, business name, and contact details.
  • Use the customized templates when onboarding that business’s own clients.
  • Share the customized client-facing documents with those clients, for example a welcome guide, a questionnaire, or an information request.
  • Allow internal team members and contractors to use the templates while they carry out work for that business.
  • Print reasonable quantities for internal use or for onboarding that business’s clients.

Prohibited uses

You may not:

  • Resell the original templates.
  • Resell modified templates as template products.
  • Share source files with unrelated businesses.
  • Upload the files to public download platforms, or to shared locations that unrelated parties can access.
  • Redistribute or sublicense the templates in any form.
  • Claim the original template design as the buyer’s own work.
  • Include the templates in memberships, courses, resource libraries, or marketplaces.
  • Use one purchase across multiple unrelated businesses.
  • Give clients editable source templates for their own reuse, unless a separate licence has been agreed with us.

What your clients receive

Your clients may receive and complete the relevant client-facing documents. A client can read your welcome guide, answer your questionnaire, work through your checklist, and return the completed form to you. That is the intended use of the kits.

What a client does not receive is ownership of, or a licence to, the underlying template system. Sending someone a completed document is different from handing over the editable master file so they can adopt it for their own business. The first is permitted; the second requires a separate licence, or a purchase of their own.

Teams, contractors, and agencies

Employees, contractors, and freelancers may use the templates while they are working for the purchasing business. Their access is tied to that work: it does not allow them to keep the files for their own separate business, for another employer, or for other clients after the engagement ends.

Where several genuinely separate businesses want to use the same kit, each one needs its own purchase. If you operate more than one brand under a single legal entity, or need a wider arrangement, contact hello@clientonboardingkits.store and we will discuss what is appropriate.

Ownership and credit

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the templates remain with Client Onboarding Kits or its licensors. Customizing a template does not transfer those rights to you, however extensively you edit it.

You are not required to credit us in the client-facing documents you produce. You may not, however, present the original template design or system as your own original template product, or offer it to others as such.

Scope of the templates

The templates are organizational and educational resources. They are not legal, financial, tax, accounting, or other professional advice, and they do not replace a professional contract.

You are responsible for customizing the materials, for confirming details before sending them to clients, for reviewing the policies you adopt for your own business, for using secure methods when handling sensitive information, and for obtaining professional advice where it is needed.

Breach and termination

If the terms of this licence are breached, the licence granted with the affected purchase may be terminated. On termination you must stop using the templates and delete the files, other than copies you are required to retain by law. Termination does not affect any other remedy available to us under the applicable law.

Changes to this licence

We may update this licence for future purchases. The version published at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. The “Last updated” date above shows when this page last changed.

Licence questions

If you are unsure whether an intended use is permitted, ask before you proceed. Email hello@clientonboardingkits.store and describe what you would like to do. Extended, multi-business, and team licences can be discussed on request.
